Any tips for my sore toe ?

It seems I have gout. The closest I have gotten to growing a ripe tomato this year is my left big toe...
Anyone know any good palliative treatments ?
I have been resting it - when possible - I am restricted to paracetemol as a painkiller because I can't take aspirin or NSAID's, other than that it seems very "hurry up and wait"...how long do gout attacks usually last ? !

Fella in my cricket team had it - seem to remember something about cherry juice concentrate.

Flare- ups are supposed to last around 10 days. Keep drinking lots of water, stay off the red meats and eat lots of veg. And google the subject for some home remedies.
