I feel for you. Can you talk to the consultant or their team direct?

                      Brufen? you're showing your age

Seriously, you have my sympathy ... I have codeine & amitriptyline for my back pain, and it doesn't touch it, just lets me sleep through most of the night, most of the time.

You have to keep telling yourself you'll get through this and make sure you don't get worked up and add stress to your pain, it will only increase it.

Hopefully the pain is your body healing itself, but in case it isn't, do get it checked out. A&E if necessary. Try and make a "pain diary" that you can show the doctor eg, if the pain has gotten worse over time, or if certain situations make it worse or better (standing, sitting, walking etc). It's more helpful to them if you can be specific than if you just say "omg it hurts so bad!"

Well, I always like to think of how to turn things around and make a positive out of a negative.

So, whilst you're up through the night, any chance you can baby sit? I'm shattered!

(hope you're able to sleep soon!)

If the pain is extreme then you should see a doctor.
You could ring the doc who operated and see if he can offer you anything (a quick check up, extra pain killers, reassurance etc)

If that's not an option and your GP can't see you then get to A&E.
Extreme pain post-op isn't normal 8 days after.

We have a walk in centre but they only deal with issues that do not require any follow up (So you have to self-assess before you get there) ...

Glad to hear you've got an appt - it does need to be checked out rather than just sitting on it. Hope you get some relief soon.
