Hi everyone, just booked a late holiday to Rhodes - soooooo fed up with our summer! Anyway just checking and I think I need a new suitcase. Can anyone offer advice recommendation for a hard-shell' one? Thanks!

Had a quick look, average weight seems about 4kg, so not too bad out of 20kg limit. Don't have many clothes! (Hope to be wearing lightweight & few!)...

Pile up the clothes you're going to take, and shoes etc, and see how much they weigh. I went to Canada for 3 weeks with hand luggage Made life so much easier!
Otherwise I take a suitcase on wheels as 20kgs can get very heavy when you can't find a trolley!
Why not take it all in hand luggage then?, no weight issues as long as you can carry it.
I always take far more clothing than I'll ever wear on holiday, in effect 3 outfits per day, as opposed to 1 variation for three days. Summer hols to me should only require 2 cosies, enough undies and some spare, a few socks as I'll live in sandals, a few shorts could swap with cosies, a variety of t'shirts some with collars for night time, and a warmer top and cagoole.
I is Welsh, never leave home without your cagoole.
I take zip-off leg trousers so no need for shorts. Easy wash and dry shirts (one with long sleeves that you can wear open as a jacket), not T shirts as you can't easily wash them, one skirt, just in case, walking boots, sandals, fleece that goes inside a waterproof coat and 3 changes of underwear. one on, one washed overnight and the other as a spare. Not much else!!
I travel in the heaviest things, boots, coat and fleece, buy toiletries when I arrive. Sometimes I take old but decent clothes and leave them abroad, so that I have an empty bag to pack with things I buy there. I have several suitcases you would be welcome to have but they're a bit big to post!!
The problem with those hard shell cases is that unless you get a REALLY good one, they shatter really easily. I know from experience. For the last 12 years, I've had a brilliant canvas one with wheels. It's taken all sorts of bashing. Old faithful!
