I find 'space' very fascinating, not just because of the galaxies (or Dairy Milk), nebulae, black holes etc, but also because the concept of something that has no end is quite mind-blowing and I think it's beneficial to blow a few circuits in the brain every now and then. Consider it as an intense workout at the brain gym.
Of course the concept of limitless space is one thing the human brain cannot fully assimilate because we live in a world that is seemingly finite in every way. Everything around us appears to have a life-span, including the planet on which we live...even the galaxy in which this planet resides will eventually cease to exist in its current form, yet 'all that is' has neither a beginning nor an end.
Science has shown that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only changed from one form to another. Science has also shown that everything is made of energy, therefore, everything has always existed and always will exist.

What I want to know is, if the universe is everything there is, and the universe is expanding, what is it expanding into, because it's already everything there is? How can there be something outside everything there is, for it to expand into????

Was watching a documentary one night and they said the universe is 14 billion years old, impossible to comprehend. Thought to myself ... pffff Ireland's national debt is at least 15 times that!!

Where will all the electrons, neutrons and protons go to when there are only photons left?
If energy can be neither created nor destroyed, then surely they have to remain.
The Earth, Sun, Galaxy and Universe are all made of things that cannot be destroyed, so even though they will not remain in their current state - the most basic constituents of 'all that is' will still be there/here.

Of course even the greatest scientific minds know only a fraction of what there is to be known, so this could all be completely irrelevant and everything as we perceive it to be might be nothing more than Gods imagination.
