Seed box? Sounds way too organised for me. I have a plastic bag.
Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive

Mine are organised by alphabet and then by sowing times.

Yeah right. Mine are in an old biscuit tin.
Oh I can't find that seed go buy some more.
There they are in the tin all the time.

Mine are organised by month. Those that are for continual sowing through the season get moved back through the months until it's time for them to go back to their start month (which I got from Two Sheds on a similar thread a while ago).

I think the importnat thing is that your seeds are stored in a dry, airtight container in as cool a place as possible to help you seeds last as long as possible. I have bags of silica gel crystals in with mine and any bags that might have got damp while sowing are thoroughly dried before being allowed back in the box.

PS. I just don't have enough time to say hello to everyone as they join so please take this as a delighted to see you here!

Mine are stacked up on top of a chest of drawers in the bedroom. They get knocked over by the cats on a daily basis. I know I should put them in a box of some sort but that would require decision making about how to organise them and is altogether too taxing! I could do with sorting them out though and actually finding out exactly how many packets of mixed salad leaves I actually have as that might stop me buying more (for a while at least).

Mine are chucked in a large plastic tub with lid, in no order because I like to rummage through them. bit like playing in my Nans button box.

Christmas shortbread biscuit tin - empty packets at the bottom (so I know what I've sown even if nothing grows), full packets on top (because you just shove the new stuff on top don't you?) and half used packets/self saved seeds in the middle by default. Naturally.

                Endless wonder.

1.The year ends with a big sort out and chuck out.
2.Everything then goes in a big lidless box by sowing date.
3.Once sown they go back in the box in the right place for the next sowing.
4.I have a running list of what needs replacing.

And in reality after step 2, the packets get dumped on my desk for filing later.
They then get knocked on the floor, scattered and I end up trying to sow empty packets and buying things I still have.
I can never find the running list so have many, on the backs of envelopes...

I have a box that is divided into months, that way I can move on successional sowing things...but this has 'overflowed' into a big carrier bag as well.

I admit it, I have a seed adiction...which is odd considering I didn't actually sow any seeds this year

Mine are in an IKEA box (about the size of a shoe box) with a lid. I do manage to put all the same varieties together, but that's about all. Like Bren, I like to rummage.

I have a lovely seedbox from Secret Santa a couple of years ago...the ones I need about now (or then?) are kept in that. Then I have an old metal gunbox with 'most' of the rest...others are strewn here there and everywhere, the dirty laundry bin seems to be their favoured place to gather

I save my seeds by order of sowing in this item that was being thrown away.

Mine are all in a sandwich/packup box. Usually at some point I go through it and throw out any I don't want.
As for any sort of ordering system, that certainly does not happen. its a case of tip them all out on the floor
to find the packet I want
