  • last nights homegrown dinner

hi guys well i was well impressed last night

ok im not entirely responsable for this one as i been out of action for a while but.......

last night my wife made me spicy beef wraps which were mmmmmhuh

they contained homegrown lettuce homegrown red peppers and homegrown red chillies
and what a sense of achievement i felt tucking into homegrown food

i have always grown one or two things but this year i bought alot more stuff for growing ie big pots for strawberries which are cropping like mad and the kids had them with a little sugar sprinkled over for last nights pudding

it feels great definately makes you feel happy knowing where you food was grown how it was grown and what you have overcome to get it on your plate instead of queing up like a drone and buying stuff thats not that hard to grow on a window sill

sorry for going on but last night was the first real meal made with almost everything that we had grown definately a bit of a buzz

That feeling never goes away Darcy, my father still preaches on a Sunday, when all the veg has come from the lottie, and he's long since retired. He's been doing so for as long as I can remember.

        Wonderful isn't it!
That's partly why we came here. Apart from fruit, we have only bought onions and carrots (as a treat!!) because I just can't seem to grow them plus maincrop spuds and the odd bargain bag of sad veg in Aldi in two and a half years.
Once I've cracked bananas I shall be happy as a happy thing.
        And onions & carrots...

Won't be long now Darcy, rest up and take care of yourself. Next year will be fantastic.
