Just after New Year, we took my Olds to Wood Green Animal Rescue because they were looking for a dog. Whilst there, the BH and I had a look at the cats.

First one we saw was the double of our old chap, who'd died the year before. Big, ginger, purry and so handsome. We couldn't possibly have rescued him (I contemplated stealing him, honestly, I did) as we aren't from that area and we had too many cats as it was. I thought about him for weeks afterwards and the BH has often hoped that someone gave him the home he deserved, although he was 13. It said he was 13, but he really didn't look it - no signs of an old boy about him at all.

If it was up to me I'd have taken them all, cats & dogs. Totally hopeless with rescue animals, I get upset just seeing them. We'd love a dog but our cats wouldn't, so we won't go on Sunday, even though we'd love it. Tooooo tempting!

It's a good job that I live too far away... My wife would bring all the dogs home if she could!

My two dogs came from one of the rescue sanctuaries that will be there on Sunday. We'll go and say hello to their guardian angel and try not to be seduced by any of the dogs that may be looking for their forever homes!
If its anything like last year, I'll come away laden with unwanted tombola prizes and junk, that I buy just to support each of the rescuers. Sometimes the prizes are so awful I leave them behind
        Hope the weather stays dry!

The reports are good, but *hangs head in shame* I didn't go
It rained all day, getting steadily worse and my dogs (and me) are such wimps in the wet.
I'll send a donation to their rescue sanctuary in lieu

Nipper quite fancies a cavalier king charles now, so I'm gonna have to keep my eye open to the centres websites. How did you find yours adapted to a life indoors?

They were relatively old when I had them - about 6 & 4 and not house trained or trained in anyway actually. So it took a while They were puppy farm dogs and not the best sort to start with as they need a fair bit of work to change their habits.
If you can get a younger one, it would be better. I'll keep my eyes peeled in case I spot something

Yep, we went to both the Norfolk & Suffolk Dog Days this year, but I missed the smaller one just down the A12 (it wasn't well advertised).
