National Poetry Day

Its National Poetry Day today
So lets write in rhyme, what do you say?
A couple of lines about your plot
Or your hobbies or...what you've got!
So over to you, my Grapey friends
Lets have some poems before the day ends

Cats, like teenagers, stay away all day
Stay up late all night
Lie sleeping until after noon.

Teenagers, like cats, demand feeding
As if their hands don’t operate tin openers
or find the clean dishes.

Cats, like teenagers, leave fur upon the floor
Never pick up their clothes
for the laundry basket

That rare cat like moments
When teenagers share their thoughts and purr out loud
As they describe their day, should be treasured.

There once was a girl from South Notty
Who tested the soil with her botty
She lifted her dress
Caused others distress
Which got her a ban from her lotty!

There was a young girl from Belfast
Who had a magnificent ass
You probably think it was roundy and pink
It had ears, a long tail and ate grass......

There was a young fella from Leeds,
Who swallowed a packet of seeds,
In less than an 'our his **** was a flower,
And his **** were all covered in weeds.

There was a man from Aberdeen
Grew the biggest onions I had ever seen
His trick it was fertiliser
Which made him much wiser
Than me, an old has been

But never would it grow
I fed it with the dog pee
I found in yellow snow

There once was a girl called Sindy
Whose beans made her incredibly windy
She ate them each day
Which blew her away
Was last seen flying in Indy

There once was a lass called Flo
Who was handy with a hoe
She swung back and forth
From South to the North
And refused to let her weeds grow

Whose fella was incredibly handy
He built a raised bed
And to him she said
I'm feeling incredibly happy...thank you very much

Who was partial to a pea
In receipt of her pack
Was somewhat like Jack
Sowed in a line, reached Swansea

Veg Grower who needed no urging
She sowed her seeds here
And she sowed some more there
For on seeds she was always a-splurging

She was dinky, it was big
So she started to dig
