  • First taste of smallholding.

Hi All, haven't been around for a while, not quite sure what's happened to the year, lost the plot a bit in the garden!! It's ben rubbish and only success has been the courgettes.
Anyway thought I'd share my lovely weekend with you as I've had my first experience of minding a smallholding. My sister lives with her partner in a beautiful converted barn in Yorkshire and they wanted to go away for the weekend so me and two mates had a girlie weekend and got to live the out door life for three days. They have pigs, ducks, 30 hens, sheep and three dogs! They grow their own fruit and veg and I'm totally jealous of their wonderful life! They look out to fields and hills and it's just beautiful. We were very lucky as the weather was sunny and I'm sure it wouldn't have been so much fun had it rained but it was amazing.
Will put some picks on later when I'm organised and I 've dragged myself out of the gloom of being back to reality.

So....when are you going to get yours then, Lettuce?

Dont forget you'll have plenty of volunteers to babysit if you want a break...

if only if only, northepaul and yes I am first on the list now for house sitting duties. What is sooo heartbreaking is there is a plot undeveloped (it's waiting for the lottery win as it has our name on it!)
I'll keep trying with the pics, it wouldn't work the other day even though I'd resized them.Any tips?

Think this may have worked. The first pic is the view out of their backdoor.

(sorry about the vignetting, forgot to alter the settings on the programme I was using )
