It's on an upstairs windowsill - it seems happier there.

It probably finds the orchids too snooty..... or maybe it's just that I remember to water it upstairs, as the orchids downstairs seldom need water.

A quick count gives 14 respondents with basil on their window sill and 21 without
        Please don't check my addition

On my upstairs windowsill I have:
          basil
          oops - a white orchid
          watering jug
          2 bottles of baby bio
          3 dead batteries
          an eraser
          a pot of pencils/pens
a bottle of lavender essential oil
          a stuffed Sylvester cat
a weather station (a repeater of the one downstairs)
a sweet pepper plant with one last pepper ripening
          a pocket sized stuffed Snoopy

I don't have to be so tidy where no-one can see...

Don't have an upstairs, live in a downstairs flat. Sometimes I wish a UFO would take out the top floor.

Enough already with the basil! I like the pinche dout tops too I've never tried doing anything like that but maybe I should to try to have basil over the winter.

The contents of my windowsill hasn't changed much, but we have laid the burnt-out kettle to rest, and my watch is up there too as evidence I was doing the washing up.
Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?

The kitchen clock and a bottle of hand wash.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Loads of things, a clock, soap, candlesticks, a carving of a puffin my husband made for me, shells, bits and pieces, far too much but I love it! No plants because it's north facing.

Dwarf basil but it all died. Going to take some Aloe Vera clippings from my rather rampant plant & stick them there instead.

                                2018 windowsills

Its raining so I was playing about with stuff on the windowsill - and remembered this old thread.

                                I have a yellow sticker Bromeliad that may, or may not, flower again;
An Aloe Vera in need of division,
A glass of tarragon cuttings (3 with roots),
Homosa tomatoes that need to be deseeded for saving,
                                An outdoor/indoor thermometer
and the usual washing up stuff.

On the other windowsill (which was a doorway when I started this thread!):-
An orchid that just finished flowering
A horrid greenflowered orchid that has nothing to recommend it and should be dumped
A pot of Amaryllis leaves from 2 bulbs that flowered a month back.
                                Orchid food.

Do you want to share yours? Anyone with Basil.
