  • Farewell Cpl Jones.....

    We've lost Clive Dunn......92 isn't a bad age, I suppose. Bless him.

    Only Ian Lavender left now

Don't panic, the platoon is still there in those who still remember it.

Dad's Army will live on forever.....

    Sleep peacefully Clive.

The enigma about Clive Dunn is that he was ALWAYS an old man, even in my youth (and I'm now in my sixties!) Dad's Army is one of the few programmes on TV today that can still raise a laugh and along with the rest of the crowd, all now dead sadly except for Ian Lavender, they created a memorable comedy that will live for ever.
              A sad day.

Very sad indeed. We absolutely love them all.
Even our adult son loves the series.
Interestingly enough we watched one last week neither of us had seen before. Sheer delight!

I was going to put a thread up, but I'm so glad that someone else already did this. I met him when I was a child, he was opening some department store on the IOW (cant remember which) and was an absolute sweetie.
My Gran was a big fan too!

                      RIP Clive!

No1 Son is 26, he's loved Dad's Army since he was a boy. We were most impressed with his impeccable taste! I find you can re-watch episodes and see or hear something new every time.
