It came to me in an email from someone who normally circulates community messages, including those from the local police - so I took it at face value Fooled me good and proper
I have been known to have too much weight on the throttle peddle but at least 10 years since last caught. However, recently when driving uphill out of our village in a 30mph zone, I came to the attention of a nick nick vehicle which decided to pursue me although I did not see them. I moved in to a 40mph zone with the foot down and apparently speeding because nick nick had to travel at over 60 mph to catch me up. When I eventually saw them about half a mile on, you know what like, blue flashing light in the mirror so you slow down to let them past and go on to their emergency and then be told/pointed to pull in. Well I was lucky, they didn't have a camera on board and as it was a twisty road, they couldn't follow me long enough to establish my speed so I got a lecture. Of course I thanked them for being so considerate . Funny thing was, they did a pnc check on my car and were given the info that my car wasn't licenced even although I'd paid £270 for the priviledge about a month earlier.
I know the feeling AP though I've never been pulled over! A few months back I took a short cut through some side streets when a policeman stepped out from between parked cars with a camera! He must have been very confident of my brakes I was exceeding 30 but not by much but I really expected a letter through the door after it. I'm very wary when I take that route now!

Our neighbour, chief inspector of paper clips and papal visits, passes me on the motorway regularly. Let's put it this way, he isn't sticking at 70mph!

But he will have a special pass.......and a code word or two to get him off if he is pulled!
ref the pic Nicos,i wear glasses and that did not,
That makes it worse then. It is an offence for a person with uncorrected defective eyesight to drive a motor vehicle on a road.
Our England is a garden, and such gardens are not made
By singing-'Oh how beautiful!" and sitting in the shade,
While better men than we go out and start their working lives
At grubbing weeds from gravel paths with broken dinner-knives. ~ Rudyard Kipling
