No, they just take up a whole lane by cycling a quarter of the way into it at 10mph max and wonder why the get knocked off when people overtake.

That May just attract other unwanted pests... for example teenagers which while they would be chilled and sedate they might expect you to start putting cookies out too Might Contaminate your veg too

Teenagers may well be more efffective than scarecrows in the garden though so a beneficial pest maybe..... as long as they dont poop in the borders like cats do anyway.

The reason that cyclists ride "wide" is

a) to increase their visibility (drivers tend to be looking straight ahead, not at the left hand gutter)
b) to discourage overtaking when it's unsafe to do so

Unfortunately some drivers take exception to that, and give us a "punishment pass" (too fast, too close).

Drivers overtake all kinds of things without hitting them: it's aggression or poor driving skills that cause cycling injuries.

Perfectly put Ts, Punishment pass is a great way to describe the behavior of far too many motorists these days.

I havent been on a bike in years mostly because it makes more sense to walk and take the dog but i dont miss the dangers of the road. Ive been knocked off twice and the second time i took quite a battering as i got squashed inbetween the overtaking car and a parked car Worse still driver did not stop. This was i middle of a hot summer day with people around and other traffic!

One thing motorists should consider and some may have already found out the hard way is if you mess with the wrong cylist they may take offence and could react in many ways which you wont find funny so your risking your car as well as the cylists safety.
Wingmirrors come off easily, get close enough and your car can be kicked, punched or scratched, Get stuck in traffic and cyclist catches you up while your trapped and your in touble, and my personal favourite is having the keys out of your ignition in traffic which really leaves you looking silly and very stranded!
Same applies to motorcyclists who are much more likely to show how unamused they are.

Or Even worse you kill or injure them.....

I dont think i will bother getting the bike out of the shed ever again...... i cant afford to buy a coffin for when the next idiot decides im in the way.
