On my main computer upstairs i have a copy of a painting by a irish artist whose work inspired me to pen several poems.
This one is called Islands in the mist. (poem available upon request)

On this laptop i have a photo i took at Humble Bee Farm, in North Yorkshire and where we spent a glorious week in September.

Looks like sunrise/set are the most popular landscapes! Lovely pictures.

This is mine, me on the first day of the season (Nov 2010) getting ready to do the first run of the year up at Grand Tourmalet (for keen cyclists, yes, as in Col du Tourmalet).

This year its due to open on Saturday but there's little snow yet...

Unfortunately photobucket website has been dead for about a week now, so I can't put up a picture.

But at the moment, surprise-surprise, my desktop picture is of an astoundingly large 150-year-old Gravenstein apple tree, without its leaves.
The trunk is about 4ft diameter (12ft girth) and it looks more like a large ancient oak tree than an apple tree.

My picture does vary and tends to get changed at least once a month when something else interesting comes along.

Sometimes I put a picture on my desktop which acts as a reminder for me to do something, or a table/chart for me to refer to in a hurry rather than have to find the chart in my Excel or picture files.
        .

Daniel Craig in those trunks. mainly as I like hearing my sons tutting and shaking their heads every time they see it. Other half has Vicky Pendleton.

at the minute this one -

taken at the top of the Honister pass in the lake District.
                        Another favourite is this -

Ballintoy Harbour just a few miles from where I live .
another favourite is one of the Northern Lights taken from Ballycastle -

Click on any of the pictures and it will take you to my Flickr photo stream - pretty much any of them could be my desktop on any given day . I like it even more when I know that I took the picture ;-)

At present I have a watercolour of a pelican painted by my sister - she divides her time between Maine, Florida and the BVI

This is another of my favourites though

Yes, she was first in the queue when the talent was dished out in our family, while I must have been behind the door and missed completely And enterprising too. Not only does she sell the originals, she makes cards from prints of them and sells those too. I can't even paint a wall!
