I hate matt paint with a passion: you can't clean it

I'm the opposite! I hate shiney paint, especially when you can see the paint streaks in it. Matt paint all the way including eggshell on the wood. The kids just have to keep their hands off it!

Matt on the walls, just keep some spare to roller over the unmovable marks, or the bad bits if you've scrubbed too hard. Gloss white on the wood.

I would prefer unpainted timber doors and skirting, if I had the option.

Ours is an old house so we use Mat paint on the wall because it doesn't highlight the wobbly and uneven bits as much as silk does.

Mint green, was originally meant to be sage green but couldn't find a paint colour I liked.
