People don't do the arithmetic, they just see the words Special Offer, or the brightly coloured sticker. The one that's still going is Sainsburys Basics broccoli florets. They cost more per kilo than loose fresh broccoli.

There are also the special offers on, for example, large jars of coffee that will still work out more expensive than buying 2 smaller jars. Or the Eco-refills in a bag, that are dearer than the same stuff in a jar. So who wants to save the planet?.........not the supermarkets

I never understood those Eco refill packs - surely a glass bottle and plastic lid is far more recyclable/ reusable/ biodegradable than a a plastic bag?
Exactly Matt! The real benefit is to the packers and shippers as the bags are cheaper to buy and lighter to transport. Somehow, these benefits are not translated into a reduction in costs to the consumer.
