In South London this morning the sun was out, the birds were singing, the flowering cherry has pink buds just starting to open and the bulbs are poking up through the soil. It felt as if spring was starting?

It's a bit like walking into a time warp.....
My lilac has flower buds on it. This frost today has turned them into purple mush. To say I am cheesed is an understatement.Jules

I have just given it a real pruning before it comes into leaf in the hope of getting some regeneration and the tree not having to work as hard getting water and nutrients higher up. If this doesn't work I'll replace it next year with something else.
