  • £80 for a pair of Clark's shoes for the boy. From a seconds outlet.....he'll be grown out them in six weeks too.

Bins, that's really horrible. Sounds like they're trying to intimidate, or prove a point. Maybe it is an inside job - folk have been watching Allotment Wars....

    • My first ever rant I think..( I am easy going but still I obviously don't rant enough)

Same as Jules... how can they charge that much for kids shoes..???? For shoes for a three year old and an 18 month old, I could buy three pairs of adult shoes at least...
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

      • Try my most recent bill as son is now in an adult shoe for school - £120 for leather. School shoes were always circa £45-55 for me as I bought Start Rite or Ricosta.
Still a kid and paying adult prices for adult clothes and our school changed the uniform twice within two years...grrrr! Thank goodness this is nearing conclusion for me.

                    Perhaps a separate thread?

Exactly. The Boy if 6ft, takes a size 11 shoe now. I can't get him a school blazer, it has to be a plain black jacket from M&S - everything else is too short in the back/sleeve. The fight I had with the school over that was plain idiotic - I ended up taking in one of the largest size blazers and getting The Boy to model it - sleeves almost at his elbows, a good 5 inches short in the back - to demonstrate my point. I then had to fight for a badge to sew on to it......sheesh! And it's not like he's the only one over 6ft either, lots of parents have had the same problems.

Still.....another 5 months and he's done with uniforms, thankfully.
