This week made hot cross buns for the first time. Actually hot crossless, fruitless bricks. Not good.
Yes, but think what you've learnt for next time! I was in the same (disastrous) mode with my bath bombs, but I'll be having another crack at them later in the year, nevertheless!

    • If you make enough of them PP you could make a heat retaining wall for some plant or other in the garden for next winter!

      • Just had a half a one dunked in coffee. Soggy brick. Nice taste, mind.

        • Five bars of milk chocolate moulded and decorated, just the white chocolate one to do now. Chocolate is in the temperer as I type.

Arm is aching from stirring melted chocolate; a very heavy liquid to move about.

                      • Last one....... white chocolate with coconut and freeze dried berries.

Very girly, but it's actually for my future SinL. He has Crohn's so normal chocolate is a no-no.

                          • Week 13 Challenge

                            Smarten Up Clothes & Shoes

Unless you are one of those people who grew up with a weekly shoe polishing ritual, then you end up saying to yourself 'I must polish these shoes' every now and again when you notice they are dull and scuffed.

For me, this is generally in the reception area waiting to go into a work meeting. And of course, by they time I get home, I have forgotten all about my good intentions towards my scruffy shoes, and back they go into the wardrobe.

Similarly with clothing repairs and alterations - I have had a button off a cardigan for longer than I remember, and just go about with a middle button missing looking unkempt; and I bought too singlets last Summer from H&M which I can't wear until I shorten the straps. Well, I can wear them, but they would be rather more daring than I would like.

                            Before:

So this evening I have set aside time to get those jobs done. A marathon shoe-shining session sees the shoes all polished and shiny; a needle and thread has seen the button sewn back on; and a mere ten minutes at the sewing machine with matching thread has seen the singlet tops altered and they are now ready to be put back in the wardrobe to be worn.

                            After:
