  • I have a challenge for this week. I'm going to have a go at "fluid drilling", I've made up the starchy fluid, most of the carrot seeds have chitted, so I'm off to stir them into the gunk, find a poly bag, and see if I can "ice" the garden in a straight line.

    Endless wonder.

    • I could have done with that for planting my spuds. My lines are rainbow shaped. My brain must be bandy.

          • Trip - Thanks - I wish My daughter was allocated a plot a fortnight ago tomorrow so have been helping with clearing the weeds there for most of the last week - I estimate only 3 to 4 hours to complete the weeding - thereafter she will probably want a similar layout to mine with paths and beds - thereafter the beds to be dug over and manure, (I have 2 daleks full, been rotting since last October) and compost, (I have 3 bags available (360L)) - after that will come the seed sowing etc. - then to the GR for a few pints

I said I would learn about the camera in my phone and how to upload a photo. I don't pretend to understand it yet and most of the photos seem to be of my finger and the rest are very poor quality but here is a photo of my Pushmepullyou dogs (Rosie on the left and Mary on the right).

Could do better but at least I understand it more than I did last week

                  • I was lucky with this BOGOF, MTF, I had one with 2 heads. Most of the ones with 2 backends were left on the shelf

                    • Getting my listing started. Forty-three items done, hundreds to go....or so it seems. Tomorrow I shall start ironing & measuring all the clothes that are too big for me now and get them listed. Then my baking & jam making books - no good in our house now - need to be photographed and weighed for postage. And there's lots of other stuff we just don't need. I shall probably wear out the camera!

                            • VC - for week 19 I intend to erect a walk in greenhouse which my daughter got for £15 at Tesco - wish she had bought 2 as they are now sold out. I will also assist daughter and son in law with laying out the rest of the allotment paths and planting some fruit bushes and strawberry plants tomorrow.

That could have gone better. I need to make the gunk thicker or the hole in the poly bag smaller, or possibly both - it came out of the bag so fast I barely got to the end of the drill (and that's a mere four feet in my small veg patch!) Apart from that though, it's a good way to sow tiny seeds - if they come up.....
