What do you do with yours,

My OH goes through a cafetiere every morning, I was just wondering if you drink the stuff, I'm not partial myself, what you do with it. I know I can compost it but does it have any other uses?

Apparently they are very good as slug deterrent but, and you can ignore this if you wish as I intend to do - they have not been passed for this purpose by the EEC and as such you could be fined for so using them, so if/when you do don't tell anyone except all your fellow allotment holders and friends wo have gardens and ....

Surely you would only be fined if you were profiteering from the sale of said grounds for the purpose of deterring slugs.

Don't laugh at me but I'm sure I read in a recent GYO mag that this is illegal, anything that has not been tested as a pesticide is illegal to use. Can't remember which issue it was in but if you ask google that's what it says too.

Afraid not - and it's not that they are harmful - they just don't meet the EEC Regulations, but I wouldn't worry about it - the chance of an allotmenteer being pursued for transgressing in this way are probably or almost certainly zero.

It does say that it is illegal if you are using as a pesticide, but makes no comment as to whether its ok if you are using it as a soil improver or as a mulch. Is it just a question of the wording?
