I can't help but feel that comment is a little bitchy...

Hazel, thank you for that wee gem of information, I will check further. It may be a solution to my problem...as long as they can cope with chronic strokaholism !

      • I am still thinking, though will be good to buy tickets now as found return from London for £ 22. Is it defo 14/04 and Botanical Gardens at 11:00? Stop messing about (Had to read nearly all post to try and make sense)! Where do non-locals plan to stay (somebody suggested Travellodge etc.), so at least we are close by and can communicate on 13th as well may be? More likely to come on 13th and go back on 14th, so what time do we plan to finish on Sunday theoretically?

No bitching from me. Merely a play on words.

              • Ok, my latest plan is to go to Coventry...well it was bound to happen one day, with my sense of humour, wasn't it...
Then on to Birmingham on the Sunday morning, and back the same day. Thus (in theory, anyway) giving me plenty of time to find a dog-friendly campsite on Saturday night, and do a bit of sightseeing on the Monday.
I reckon that I am going to have the East Midlands train network memorised by the time I am finished my holiday...

                    • Er, I'm thinking of Rugby now actually, Binley...my plans do seem rather fluid at present ! Or perhaps Birmingham...

                      Sadly LilyRose, my dog does...
Besides, we haven't been introduced, you might be allergic...even if the Plough and Harrow was dog friendly. Otherwise, being Aberdonian, I would consider it.

                        • Welll...I suppose she will be wearing a fur coat...and it's not so much snoring as a gentle snuffling...quite relaxing really...Okay, you've persuaded me !
<Stingy Scotsman gene kicks in> Can you check and make sure there is no silly surcharge for the dog ? I mean, something is reasonable, but they say they are dog-friendly, and it won't take a Filipina maid that long to Henry the dog hair...

                            • Hmm, that confirms what I suspected - the options search on hotel.com isn't that accurate - still, never mind, I have a friend in Rugby to visit, only a short train journey away !
