Midland Spring time grapefest - Venue is RYTON GARDENS
Don't think I'll be there either so that makes 3 of us
What's all this giving up so easily ?! Don't make me come round to your houses...well okay Frank, I'll let you off, but Veggie, don't make me come visit your wood...Sarz, it wouldn't be the same without you !
Anyway, if we are going to meet up of a weekend, why not make it a day of digging/allotment snooping/garden centring on the Saturday, and then a day of pure social stuff on the Sunday ? Make a proper weekend of it.
(Of course I am all right here, I am planning to go on to Lincolnshire etc after, and VVG has my dog sorted on the Sunday - ta VVG ! - so that's me sorted - it's already a proper break for me. But even an overnight stay at a youth hostel...?)

Head-hunted member of the Nutter's Club - can I get my cranium back please ?

You're welcome!

I have dog problems too, Snohare, that make it impossible for me to leave them all day - eye medication - 4 times daily. Even if I bring them with me, one of them doesn't walk far. I'd like to meet you all but it is difficult - anyway, maybe its better if I remain a woman of mystery

I'd be rather abashed to have my half plot open for inspection! I'm rather looking forward to this catch up.

I was expecting that we'd at least have a chance to build a bean frame or some such thing, Hoblette, after all my plot is not going to be any tidier than yours ! (I promise you. I really must bite the bullet and post some pictures...) No point in having a DIY fanatic on hand if you don't give him some work to do.
Binley, don't laugh too hard, but...is Derbyshire far from Birmingham ? I know, I'm like these HQ bosses who ask the local plumber up here to nip over to Ullapool from Fraserburgh because "it's up by you" - but not having a map of the UK to hand, I am utterly clueless as to how easily I can reach this fabled land of allotments with cafes... (Up here we are lucky if they come with sunshine.)

The Shire of Derby is a forty minute train commute to Brummieland.
Being abashed would last all of two minutes, as I'd then welcome all grape aunts and uncles with open arms and a note pad. Botantical gardens is half hourish from me.

Hmm, I was sure I had seen a bit saying "Derbyshire" in Binley's location bittie...but then again, we are talking about my short term memory...I probably just forgot how bad it was (again) !
Well, sounds like Hobbit's bit of the Shire is busable anyway, or trainable if not too expensive...
I should warn you though, I'm better at joinery than I am at origami, Hobbit.
