I agree, Brum isn't the hell hole to drive in that it's perceived to be. Although at peak times - not weekends - it can clog like any other major city.

    • Sarz, send MBE a PM and get his appraisal of the best direction of travel through the roadworks at the time you anticipate getting to Brum, there are deffo speed restrictions but cannot remember if lanes are restricted as well

Thought he lived in Walsall, not Brum. They always stick up temporary speed restrictions to enable traffic flow - it works. We drive into Brum most weeks and Mr VVG drives it several days each week. It really isn't that bad.

        • Cheers all I shall mull it over and decide a bit closer to the time. Still a few weeks off isn't it? Or have I missed a major change in date?

                  • It's at Birmingham Botanical Gardens. And I'm pretty sure it's April 14th at 11.30.

As I remember from my student days it's about 10 or 15 mins walk from Five Ways (which used to contain a hideous concrete monstrosity with what looked like multi coloured sick down the side of it........) station and you can get an easy local train there from New Street but there may be buses that can get you closer.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
