Don't think I'll be there either so that makes 3 of us
Anyway, if we are going to meet up of a weekend, why not make it a day of digging/allotment snooping/garden centring on the Saturday, and then a day of pure social stuff on the Sunday ? Make a proper weekend of it.
(Of course I am all right here, I am planning to go on to Lincolnshire etc after, and VVG has my dog sorted on the Sunday - ta VVG ! - so that's me sorted - it's already a proper break for me. But even an overnight stay at a youth hostel...?)There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.

I'd be rather abashed to have my half plot open for inspection
Binley, don't laugh too hard, but...is Derbyshire far from Birmingham ? I know, I'm like these HQ bosses who ask the local plumber up here to nip over to Ullapool from Fraserburgh because "it's up by you" - but not having a map of the UK to hand, I am utterly clueless as to how easily I can reach this fabled land of allotments with cafes... (Up here we are lucky if they come with sunshine.)There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.

Hmm, I was sure I had seen a bit saying "Derbyshire" in Binley's location bittie...but then again, we are talking about my short term memory...I probably just forgot how bad it was (again) !
Well, sounds like Hobbit's bit of the Shire is busable anyway, or trainable if not too expensive...
I should warn you though, I'm better at joinery than I am at origami, Hobbit. There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.
