Total waste of space and I'm not talking about the show veg. As one Tweeter put - that's an hour of my life wasted...I have to agree!

thing is though it does happen, those two lasses were funny, im guessing its within the plot that break in,
I sit on the fence were I am, when there is a lil hostility going on between plot holders and just try and get on with all or keep my head down, I do believe alot of the petty stuff is all within, as for growing competition veg wow thats a lot of faffing for a peice paper and a couple of quid, I hope it does get eaten,
did enjoy film after though

What a pretty shed! A bit OTT pretty for a shed on an allotment but how nice it would be to have one on my plot overlooking the canal so in the summer I could sit and type looking out at the trees and ducks.
The guy whose greenhouse burnt down - was it anythign to do with the heating stove built in to it? That looked particularly burnt on the flue.
Yes there was very little mention of growing things.
The guy with the pumpkins who got thrown off twice - that sounded very iffy - but once they are like that to you it will take away all the fun of growing things.
Throwing someone off for not being on for 3 weeks is a bit shocking and playing games refusing to accept rent is horrid. Saying 'no comment' when you're asked if you are a committee member is pretty shonky.
The 'plot watch' was mad. Honestly they were so noisy and having someone in a fluorescent jacket with torches is not the way to catch someone. You need covert CCTV like they had at the stott lane site (According to the sign on the gate)
The competition was interesting - but again no mention of enjoying fresh veg.
And having to have a secret second plot... !

Well. I watched it......quite enjoyed it really.......despite the sensationalist editing.......those carrot tubes were good.....not seen them before......not like that anyway.....
The Essex girls were amusing.....be good to have them on our plot.......they seemed to get it!
Snadger......do you know those two blokes?
Did they film at anyone's plot?
Loving my allotment!

Eh, didn't watch. The clips I saw just showed some really sad people, who I think need more in their lives. Then they may realise just how petty their "injustices" are. Did read online about the trainee teacher being booted off his plot - not good. Think I'll just stick with Beechgrove Gardens.

Made me really cross watching it-not enough to switch it off-but glad that so far I've had it nice.
I, personally, don't want to grow for a trophy. You can't eat it for a start. But each to their own, and may it bring them happiness and joy.
Would be nice to see a positive side to the show; to produce such diatribe is biased. The two ladies made me laugh. That was not a shed; but a spare boudoir.
T'was very much all the old boy network. Yet, lotmenteering has seen an increase on ladies aged between 25-30 taking it on. Not an accurate sample of the population. Someone needs to get on to POV.

I watched it.....mixed feelings - the 2 Essex girls were mad although I have got shed envy & how does she ever garden with those nails????
The guy who was thrown off doesnt ring true there mustve been something else going on which we weren't shown - nobody would be thrown off after 3 weeks of non-cultivation after making such a good start would they??? & the committee members who refused to accept his rent did seem a bit churlish although I'm not sure how happy I'd be with a TV camera in my face (especially if I wasnt warned... never look me best on lottie)
The chap who managed to get an additional plot to grow his show veggies how did he manage that if waiting lists are as long as they are reported to be??? seems a bit odd although at least Janet is happy now
& as for the two grumpy old gits in Newcastle.....I think they enjoyed the anomosity between them.
Shame there wasnt a more positive spin to allotmenting (even though Ive experienced some bad things recently) I do think the community spirit and growing good fresh food for eating not showing should have been included.
PS Did you hear the lady (Shona) on Chris Evans breakfast show this morning - we need more of that kind of person in the mediaLast edited by Hans Mum; 23-01-2013, 10:36 AM.The love of gardening is a seed once sown never dies ...
