The Manchester lad's filming was completely one sided - I think he may have invited the cameras on site without agreement of the Committee, as their faces had been blanked out and they made little or no comment - I also think the Police may have been called to eject the Film Crew, who were tresspassing without authority, but it makes better TV for them to let us think they were called to eject the lad, which does'n't make much sense, as he was willing to hand in his key and leave.

I think the whole thing was staged

    • They should make series about Lottie Life and feature everything, good and bad. Then it would be worth watching.

      • I agree Shen, but it seemed to be the only bit that hadn't been rehearsed so often as to be devoid of meaning. It was all very bizarre. I wonder how the programme makers recruited the allotment holders - did they advertise for people with issues? I wonder how many Grapes would answer a call like that? You'd have to be either completely incensed about something or insensitive to being ostracised afterwards.

        • Oh dear,oh dear,oh dear, but never mind we should be fully aware of what the BBC thinks the general public are happy to sponsor with their license fees by now

I think it is the old '15 minutes of fame' thing - you only have to look at 'Reality TV Shows' to see people at their worst, and in some cases, most stupid, being exploited to the full and loving it

Fortunately we wiser heads would insist on a minimum payment of £100k each if we could get in front of AP BM BB Potty Trip Lottie Jules VVG and uncle Tom Cobley and all

              • After finally getting around to watching the program, I'm left with a feeling that it was stage managed with a lot one sided editing.
Hope the program was a one off because I won't be bothering to watch it again even if I'm knitting at the same time.

I'm chuckling at the thought of this ^^^^ lot making a TV programme together. Not sure whether it would end up like Blue Peter, Gardener's World outtakes or something to be shown after the watershed.

                  • If you or AP were in charge it would end up being titled 'Welcome to the Allotment Madhouse' with Trip and myself having 'Bit Parts' and I'm not saying which Bits but at least it would be funny.
