This is the first time I've ever seen the name James Wong. I must lead a very sheltered life.

Have to admit I got suckered into buying the cucamelons, as they are something I would love to grow....
But will be an experiment for me but as everyone says, one with a low chance of success, especially with the measly number of seeds you get..I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....
...utterly nutterly

I really liked his Grow Your Own Drugs series. Had a quick look at his website a while ago but if I remember rightly, I couldn't make the screen bigger and the text was too small to read, i've since found my reading glasses though

I like him. I don't buy his seeds, and I confess, I only bought his GYO Drugs book 'cause it was dirt cheap in 'The W*rks' but I like it. He has done some enjoyable TV, and is a happy smiley person. Maybe mildly annoying, like the smiley Professor Brian Cox, but equally as watchable.
Let's face it, there is so much doom and gloom everywhere on TV, and the media in general, that folk are getting so used to being 'down' that they don't like other folk being 'up!'
Just my opinion...Last edited by Glutton4...; 01-03-2013, 08:57 AM.All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment

Wouldn't the world be a dull place if we all liked the same.
I've had James Wong's GYOD book on my Amazon wishlist for ages - I loved the TV programme.
Depends what time of day it is, where the moon is in Uranus and how many cats have crossed my path on a given day to who I like watching/reading.
I was never exposed to gardening as a kid, so missed out on the "old school" bunch, but I'm all for any kind of gardener as long as I like them.
Is it ok to like him? Cawse it bladdy is.Last edited by HeyWayne; 01-03-2013, 09:25 AM.A simple dude trying to grow veg. http://haywayne.blogspot.com/

It's all gone wrong with Wong!
Y'see, the minute I come on here saying nice things about James Wong, the whole thing
(cue bodily metaphor warning) blows up in my face and promptly bites me on the bum!
I was sowing a few things on Friday night and was extremely disappointed to find that both the packets of the James Wong branded Wintgreen and Inca Berries seeds were completely empty when I opened them.
This is the first time I can ever remember a packet of seeds to have been like this, and the eventual reply to my (polite) email to Suttons should be very, very interesting when it arrives.
Compare the above experience with my unbridled joy and delight to have received my first batch of seeds and first magical catalogue from The Real Seeds Company and, as much as I like Suttons, you have, perhaps, the greatest possible contrast between two companies in the commercial seed world today...Would anyone agree with me on this?

I am beginning to judge people/companies, not on what happens when I order. But what happens after, ie how soon the order turns up, and how well packed, and if not all good, how well they deal with the dispute. Annoying!Ali

its seems to be the same all over. companies go all out on marketing and next to nothing on service and substance. They just want to get their hands on your money and dont care about anything else. Its all target driven these days and it blows. Thats my opinion.
