Our current garage is, frankly falling to pieces.
The previous owners 'made' it from large fence panels/sheets and planks of wood/old bricks etc (we bought the house 6yrs ago).
Last year, it started to leak from the roof and on inspection, we found it was irrepairable. The best we've been able to do is tack some plastic over the leaking bits. It's rotting and leaking and is horrible!
I know that the garage of my dreams is a long way away, money wise.
However, we really need something large, sturdy and robust and we need it fairly quickly (within a few months). We don't actually need a proper garage door - just a normal sized door (though double doors would be nice!)
I was thinking about buying a 2nd hand portacabin or shipping container and converting it (where it needs it - e.g. a window, or electric). That way it just be craned in and dropped where we need it....
Has anyone has any experience buying or converting these types of things? Or heard any horror stories about them!?
