If you eat dried chestnuts - they were really cheap compared to here.
Seeds of any interesting fruit or veg are always welcome

We got a bit "out of sync" for a post or two Jules

Anyone fancy a go at castor oil plant ? I reckon there will be seeds to be collected next week.

Will check out seed packets at the market & maybe some of the hardware shops in town, will be "up & down" for a week or so

A doddle, BB! Though the 4th photo ? Cabo Girao (or something) is giving me vertigo just looking at it. I remember hearing that the cows live in little cowhouses on the side of these cliffs and they have to blindfold them when they move them, or they're too scared to walk. I know the feeling!!

Its all coming back, BB and it must be 20 years since I was there. One year we went over to Porto Santo for a few days - so quiet in comparison and, by coincidence, I came across a print of the island here today and decided that it could go.
There was a photography museum in Madeira, all the old photos that had been taken of islanders - in a tiny little shop. Going to goggle it now -see if it still exists

                    Yes Here it is http://www.madeira-island.com/museum...hy_museum.html

Cheers VC will give that a looking at

Cheers Bin's should be able to find that the allotments have been there a long time but were VERY rundown, but as they were severely damaged in the floods (about 4 years ago) they have had a new lease of life with modern fencing & all those nice sheds looks very upbeat now
