Now I love Monty! Quite looking forward to this as we've been around a few French gardens, mainly abbey gardens and they are always beautifully tended. So thanks for the reminder VC. Hoping the topiary garden is on - you will know the one I mean if you see it. Undulating box curves.Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better...Albert Einstein

Well I enjoyed the programme more than I thought I would but I hope in the next episodes (how many are there?) he will look at ordinary gardens and I hope he looks at them in alll the different areas because gardens are going to be different on the med, in the mountains, massif central, river valleys, northern coast etc etc ...all the formal gardens he looked at were up north...
I did find the cliche bits annoying .....the Deux Chevaux .... not the best way to get around really. And the music was a bit cloying ...could have had some zebada or other contemp music (Not an expert) and actually I love Charles Trenet et al.......
Loved the gardeners......always love a good gardener.
But didnt really feel like gardening it was a travelogue wasnt it?
Not really moaning BUT why is it when they film anyone visiting places like versailles etc they manage to go where there is NO ONE else ...can you imagine turning up to see the Hall of Mirrors or whatever and you cant go in because some prat is filming.I think we should see them either full of people or they should film on a day when its closed (or in the 2 hour lunch break) but there were hordes outside and no-one inside.
Still vive la france.....Last edited by Jardiniere; 03-02-2013, 11:00 AM.
