      I liked it - that's not the same as saying that I "Approve" of sneaky behaviour - 'cos I don't Ever, anywhere, by anyone. So don't let it happen again or I'll get cross

        From 1 supplier,lost the other order sheet so that will be a surprise package

          Collard greens x 3 - sounds like Moreveg I have some on the go at the moment - can't remember which one I think Joy Larkcom rates them - or is that Texel greens? Got those too

                    Is that what they look like? That garden makes mine seem flat That's what amazed me about Madeira - every available space is cultivated - and irrigated. Construct a terrace - even though its only a few feet wide, then a levada for water, with little sluice gates. Do I remember correctly - that each landowner had a time slot when the water came onto his land - then he shut the sluice and his neighbour had the water.

                      Yep,they just strip a few leaves off as & when needed,regarding levada's,that is basically how it still works today VC,the really major difference are the modern road network on the south of the island & the large amount of untended terraces as more of the younger generation move away or get involved in tourism

                        It'll be a great shame if the old ways of cultivation are lost and the island reverts to natural vegetation.

                            Yes & no,because of this peeps will know what Collard greens look like & how to harvest them,also that the seeds are available from Moreveg who will be at EGS (they even stock an F1 variety now),see it all links together

                                back to the question of going- Caitlin (4 months) and I will be going tomorrow (Saturday). Look for a solo mum with a big green Stokke pram and that will be me. Do say hi. Even if I'm feeding the little lady while listening to James Wong...

                                On the subject of cool things, I seed swapped a some lettuce seeds yesterday that had the best name I've seen...
