What is the discount for? Just pure nosiness, but I agree there should be no gender discrimination.

Sorry, I realise the discount is for being old, I meant to ask what is discounted. Have I made that any clearer or not. Forgive me I am old (63).

The gender pay gap in the UK is still the worst across the EU across a female's working life; so the council are obviously trying to address that by giving women a discount.

These things do go in both directions, when getting a pension a man gets more as he doesn't live aslong as a woman (not for much longer mind). I can understand this, women are very good communicators so much so that their nagging has taken years of their husbands life expectancy.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

Oldham gives a 50% discount on area of plot for over 65s. 10p a m2 rather than 20p.
It's up to us as a group what we set the membership fee at that is on top of that.

The discount is to pensioners, surely?

Whether you're male or female (or in-between), you only get the discount if you're a pensioner.

If you ask a man to do something he doesn't want to do, it's nagging. Apparently.

Clear as dish water . It's the rent that is discounted. Now I don't know if I've cleared that up or not

                          Presume you mean plot rent?

As to your question a clear case of misandry if I ever heard of one.

However I like the others don't think the chaps rent will come down, the ladies will just rise. Take car insurance as an example.

I don't think it's hatred or dislike of boys - if the women have to retire earlier and thus earn less; then surely it's only right to reduce the rent. If it was misandry then surely all women would get a discount.

Last December there was an EU ruling that banned insurers from discriminating between men and women drivers policy premiums,so there is deffo a precedent for parity
