yes but playing very successfully. I do have confidence in what you expound because you are experienced in growing in Containers. I grow only the odd thing in pots and would probably grow things well if I decided to grow more but I would be growing through a very steep learning curve which you have grown through already. Common sense to network in that fashion

I'm quietly intrigued by it all, I have no problem with them punting their wares and their advise. I think it would be a really hard thing to do, I naturally like to jest and be sarky with a pokey stick, it would be a lot harder to do if I was also the face of a company advertising their wares.

I personally think they are on a hiding to nothing, they are not going to actively promote their competitors products even if they are appropriate. Its a bit like seeing a financial advisor attached to a bank, you will only get a narrow point of view, and not always the best. As a result some are going to be naturally wary of them, I hope it does add something different to the vine.

There are only a few ardent forum guru's that spring to mind FB 'feeling fruity' and RH & others on 'rule the roost', they don't very often wander about the vine but give lengthy and very knowledgeable advise on subjects they are very experienced in.

      The vine really fascinates me.

The forum is very well supported by us guys and advertisers would not be prepared to part with their cash if it wasn't.

Part of the attraction of the forum for me (apart from the feeling of having company with like minded folks) is that the interaction is with folks who have no self interest and share their information and expertise (i.e. we are all experts in some way) with those who ask for it. FB as an example has such knowledge and shares it freely without punting any product at us.

It is the punting of product I don't like. If I ask a question, the remedy I expect to get is the best remedy or a variety of remedies and not the remedy which involves the use of an experts product if that is not the best remedy. I'm going back to sit in my corner.

Been to have a quick look at the KG experts first post and I have to say they seem to have a different outlook to the first expert to appear.

Methinks the "soil expert" is on a hiding to nowhere, there are 8 threads in total in that forum to which he/she has only posted in two, both of which are pertinent to his/her retail product, speaks realms to me

The KG expert already has an "Ask the Expert" section on their website so should be used to dealing with questions. They also have a range of products for all occasions whereas the Soil expert is restricted to one basic product only. No comparison really.
