I was transplanting me beans into their final places this week and dug up a broken jar. Not much in the grand scheme of things but puzzled me. It was about 8" below the surface of a new bed I made when we moved in to the house. They are no dig beds other than a light turn over last year when I added horse manure.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. -

lots of broken glass, very old rusty garden tools, broken plastic toys, very damaged old coin/medal and a couple of live newts last week (I am sure they don't leave underground?)Comment
