At one time, I worked in a 1st floor office in an oldish house. There was a grill in the ceiling, that led into the attic - never took much notice of it until the decorators came in to paint the room. They did a good job - everything was painted white, even the legs of the dead pigeon that poked out through the grill
Couldn't belleve that I'd never noticed them before................
