I now want to make a rockery near my front door (I did anyway but Carol Kleins programme has re-inspired me)
I now want to try one small topiary spiral tree (I didn't but Rachel De Thame has me wondering if I could)
I now want to do better with my pretty-rubbish - but still new herb bed (Thanks to Toby Buckland's programme)
I now want to re-do my front garden (It is a work in progress but Joe Swift's programme has nudged me on a bit)
There are a few more of this series to go, I wonder what else I will realise I need to do?!
I've already planted 6 trees - so the tree programme - I am way ahead of you.
One programme is about veg - I'm all over that!
Flowers for cutting programme - Yep I'm on it!
I've watched this series too. The only ones I've been slightly unconvinced by are Chris Beardshaw's stumpery (e.g. weak imitation using sawn logs) and Charlie Dimmock's pond and bog garden with sleepers (So 1980's. Sexist remark: hasn't she let herself go!). But apart from those it's been good and even inspiring at times. The enthusiasm of the presenters has been much less grating than it can sometimes be on Gardeners World.

I'm looking forward to Monday's episode, I think that's the veg garden one.

Even though I've enjoyed it, I guess somebody senior in BBC Commissioning doesn't like the series much. It was obviously originally intended as a weekly series of half-hour programmes, but someone decided to squash them together in unrelated pairs to show them weekday evenings and get them out of the way as soon as possible. Thank goodness for iPlayer otherwise I'd never have got to see them all.

                        • So every 28 years the calendar year cycles? Does that mean last year we could have used 1985, and next year we can use 1987?

                          • Did you know that fruit trees are grown in suppositories? No, me neither. Took me a while to stop laughing at that particular slip of the tongue.
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
