You should try an elbow, I think that is what people do with babies

Elbowing babies seems a bit vicious You're right of course, and I believe the inside of the wrist is quite sensitive to temp too

I just find it wierd how sometimes the feet are right ... or sometimes it's not hot enough. It's like they work on their own independent thermometer to the rest of me

You run a bath and test it with your hand. Feels OK, but hands aren't the best judge. Tentatively lower in a foot. Perfect! In with the other foot! Ah, that's marvellous. Then lower yourself down into the waaa waaa waaaa woaahh ooohhh ooofff wait a sec wait a sec oooh ohhh, I'm down, I'm in, but I'm still not sure, ooaaahhh ooofff, I've gone a funny red colour ....
