I suppose it does kinda tie in with mood lighting etc. Some places decorate in certain colours as well to try to influence people or to try to put them in a certain frame of mind. Even women wearing different colours of lipsticks. Mind you, the OCD afflicted among them will have them arranged by brand or by colour or by size or by the day of the week they wear that colour or by .....................

I love seeing anything coloured sorted into spectrum order. Opening a new tin of coloured pencils - oh, be still my beating heart!

Too funny I know what you mean, must be a genetic response to seeing rainbows or something

My reference books are in height order; highest to each end, shorter in the middle, odd ones stacked on top in the middle. But, my fiction is stored alphabetically by author's surname, and in the order they were written by that author. CDs are stored alphabetically by the Group or Artist's name.

          See, I'm normal, really.

Until I read this thread, I never thought I did anything strange, but now I come to pay attention, I do find myself unconsciously adjusting my stride to avoid cracks in paving. Not where the pavers are closer together than a normal stride (forget visions of mincing down the street), but where there are unexpected joins or cracks, or if they are well spaced out I do it.

I only really paid attention to it today, realising that was what I was doing. I wonder how long I've been doing it? Probably since I was small, and told that the bogey-man would get me if I stepped on a crack.

I did think of something I was OCD about but now that I've read all 5 pages [because I couldn't just skip to the end] I've completely forgotten what it is. I'll be back if I remember.

My dad taught me "tread on a crack, break your back. Tread on a line, marry a swine". Freaked me out for years growing up.
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

I avoid the cracks too! Some of the old pavements have rainwater channels (jump those) and "EL" (Electricity) carved into them. To step on an EL stone was the worst as you would have Elephant Legs.
Still makes me smile when I see them - and I avoid them, just in case!!

All of my fabric in the workroom is arranged by hue. It's not really OCD, it's more practical.

My OCD is stuff like putting my right sock on first - if I do it the other way around it feels odd and weird all day. Always tearing off toilet roll sheets four at a time. If I've put my mug under the coffee machine the handle must be on the right and the sweetener must go in first. Daft stuff.

The general consensus seems to be that odd is normal, and normal is odd. I think 'they' are just trying to make money off us with their psychobabble and drugs Unto yourself be true!

Of course, needing 4 sheets of bog roll isn't necessarily a sign of OCD. It could simply mean you have a big bum

My sister spent years telling me I was fat, and couldn't wear this, that or anything else cos I had a big bum. I used to get very upset. I stopped going shopping with the old stick insect. A year later the tables are turned - I'm only a size 10 now - she's broader across the beam than I am.

Say what you like. I'm very proud of my bum!
