Oh bum, all this talk of pancakes - now I have to go and make them again and I still don't have any fresh flour or milk.

That's Yorkshire pudding then, flat style. Do they still serve them before the dinner?

            Profound thoughts on pancakes

            1. It takes the same amount of time to eat a pancake as it takes to cook the next one.
            2. You can make a pancake form out of date flour, milk powder, egg, butter and lemoncurd and they still taste good.
            3. The last pancake always looks and cooks the best.
            4. Life's too short to flip a pancake and clear up afterwards.
            5. I've eaten 5 and I still have room for more.

              1. I've just had another two, despite saying I was full, so echo point 5.
              2. I make mine with a cup of eggs, a cup of plain flour, a cup of milk/water mix and a pinch of salt. These were not out of date, but then there are four of us here so can concur with point 2.
              3. I like the look of all pancakes I cook - I just do.
              4. I have to clean up as I have OCD - see other thread - the world needs more tossers - I toss.
              5. I agree with point 1 - cook one, scoff one, cook one, scoff one.

We tend to do some savory an some sweet. Have cheese, chorizo, chestnuts and will be frying up some mushrooms and leeks but we also have lemon juice, jam, chocolate spread, apples and ice cream. Having said that will probably leave it till tomorrow as am going to be rushed to do that before I go out later unless

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I often cook rhubarb in orange juice with ginger - doesn't need sugar that way Its a nice combination of flavours so I'm sure that jam is delicious.

My favourite topping is the traditional lemon and sugar.
I usually however do a stuffed pancake to have first to make it into a full supper.

Do you galette? I like savoury in a buckwheat pancake.

I don't like pancakes. Too many years of cooking them for the kids and eating the leftovers cold.
