Had to look Invershin up on the map. 'Tis in a lovely part of the country I have only been that far north (and a bit further) when we went to Orkney.
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
I'll have to make crepes for the boys and low carb pancakes for us - although I might/will cave in to crepes as they are one of my favourite things.
Just wondered, what is the difference between pancakes and crepes? I always thought that it was just the French word for the same thing but something somebody was saying earlier made me wonder.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Kitty, look at it on street view in Google earth. My grandfather's wooden cottage is still there, on the road to Bonar. It's changed from when I knew it, but the people who bought it at least didn't knock it down, like the one next door. My Granda would be pleased.
Alison - just the thickness of the batter and finished pancake. An American pancake or even a Scotch pancake is about 1cm thick, crepes are very thin - thinner the better.

Just back from a committee meeting in the local hotel and the owner made us pancakes - because the restaurant staff were busy! With maple syrup, slices of lemon and sugar - and all on the house too
I do a savoury filled with mince, rice and peas, with a good slosh of Worcestershire sauce,
I think we would call that a mince wrap these days PB...............

I like a thick open pancake with grated cheese, toasted cashews, slices of ginger in syrup with maple syrup on top - for the meat eaters swap the cashews for crispy bacon.
Oh No - I feel another pancake urge coming on
