I wouldn't swap my three for all the rice in China...
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

Yeah, but that's not saying much - what would you do with about 10 billion tons of rice?

Best thing that can ever happen to those who want children and it gets even better when the grandchildren come along - I am not in the least religious but the best sign I ever saw in a friend's house was:

I was thinking about grandkids the other day. My sister has one. Our lot are going to be a while before we see any, but no rush.

But my Mum is Nanny, and my sister is Nanny. In our family it's all Nans. I just wondered if I want to be Nanny too....or something different.

                Silly really......

I'd swap anybodys kids for half the rice in China. I'm not greedy

It had the potential to be a 'light the blue touchpaper' thread too....

Hmm this thread made me laugh. My other half has a little girl and she has one of those hypo disorders ( she is an absolute delight....not) We used to take her to our lottie but after a couple of times you could see the faces on the other allotmenteers sadden at the sight of the little terror.

Having no children, we quite like having them to stay, especially the younger ones. One year a friend came with his cute little daughter who really liked gardening and offered to 'help' harvest the French beans. As this is a tedious job, I put her in charge of gathering some and gave her a trug.

She harvested a nice quantity and I was SO pleased...... UNTIL I went to the garden a bit later and discovered she had pulled EVERY plant out of the ground in order to get the beans.

Of course, I didn't complain to her and put it down to experience. No doubt she will learn how to do this properly one day!

I love my two to bits and would never send them back. They get better with age, but they were great young too. Not for everybody, I know, but I am so glad I did, because I so nearly didn't
