What are split pills/pils?

Sorry for posting twice, need to buy some seeds and don't know what 'split pills' are - anyone know?

I found this;

"Split Pill is unique with its splitting character. The pellet does not melt, but splits open and creates optimum conditions for quick development of the seedling. The coating material is designed to allow free and quick access of moisture and oxygen to the seed. A greater part of the greenhouse seedling production in Europe is coated in Split Pill."

Thanks guys sorry to be grumpy, it must be the cold weather! Looking to buy some lettuce pandero - very tasty red/green little gem type and most seem to be sold as 'split pills'. Thought they were some sort of coating to make sowing individually easier. Shall buy some now.

They look good.....might have to get some!

They are very tasty Happy, err I mean Jules. They have a good colour too and seem to resist going mouldy better than ordinary little gems when the weather is damp. Edit - got some ages ago from T&M but they don't seem to sell them. Moles & Midland Seed Co, plus ebay have some.
