We called the RSPCA for advice and a very nice lady came and took the pigeon away in a box. She said they would see if they could save it, but I don't hold out much hope. Enjoy the rest of your evening. I can now

Big ((HUGS)) Flo, we had to despatch a Battie this evening. She was looking 'iffy' this afternoon, but was clearly suffering later. Big wuss that I am, I delegated to Mr.G and his big meat cleaver.

On an animal theme, I'm looking after the Next-door's two cats whilst they are away this week. Old Merlin has hyperthyroidism and has to have tablets twice a day; and he has had his feeding regime altered to suit the condition (now 4 pouches a day - daren't tell my two cats or they would be on strike after equal rights!).
I realise now that I have made a bit of an assumption that 4 pouches = breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper, so I've been hopping in and out the side gate what seems like every five minutes to keep the plates topped up.
It struck me this evening when I went round for feed three, that Merlin was not as keen as coming for something to eat as he usually is - actually he wasn't overly hungry at lunchtime either.
I'm worried about this, but I think I've cracked the problem - the Next-doors attitude to their cats is less - er - 'fussy' than mine is are highly unlikely to muck about with 4 little meals a day (like Mrs Mad Cat Woman here is doing), so I think that Merlin is just not getting hungry between meals.
I bloody well hope that's all it is, anyway.
Must go - time for their supper...

Wakey wakey - its morning Overcast here - the bright yellow thing has gone AWOL.
I have a decision to make before the builder's arrive next door, this morning, about taking down a wall of mine which is bordering on unsafe. It will have to be replaced with summat and I don't know what. Normally, I wake up with the answer, but its only a partial answer this morning. Now I have to think about it awake
Have a great day!

Mornin' folks,
Overcast here this morning but at least it's not raining(yet )
Weather people say it will clear up by late morning.
I'll take a walk up Loughborough market shortly & see what the plant man has to offer as I still have a bit of space left on the allotment.
P.S.
A allotment neighbour gave me three healthy looking squash plants(Hercules)yesterday.Last edited by bubblewrap; 06-06-2013, 06:59 AM.The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

G'Moooooooooooornin' Peeps - Sunny and warm here, already. Dare I moan that I was too warm in the sun, yesterday? And Tuesday? Sorry, but I was.
Up-an'-at-'em early today, so I can (hopefully) finish before it's too hot. That's the plan, anyway.
First things first, though. Coffee? All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment
