Morning All......clouded over here and chillier than yesterday. W/E is looking good for our trip to Hull - early o'clock start tomorrow. The BH is looking forward to giving the new car a decent run.
Official news this morning from Bath - the BH has got rheumatoid arthritis in all major joints. We had suspected this, but were totally gobsmacked to discover that the specialist thinks he's had it since he was in his teens. It does explain a lot. We were very surprised by the symptoms of RA too - psoriasis? who would have thought that was linked, but it is and lots of other things too, like dry eyes & mouth. Anyway, it's good to know what's causing the pain and we can go on from here - we might even improve some of his back pain
Coffee? It's very good.....
Thoughts with you and mr.Jules. Yeah, the dry eyes and mouth would be part of it. As RA is part of the inflammation and vasculitis family. Encourage Mr.Jules to get the dryness in his helped-when he's not gazing lovingly into yours-and as regards to dry mouth. Keep an eye on his tastebuds, if he is prescribed steroids, they can possibly have an impact. Send him a hobbit hug from me
Well I'm blaming BM for me getting a fine ,if he had not started that thread about square foot gardening I would never have needed the book The book that the library brought because of my inquiry, which I have renewed 5 times (through the online service),after paying the fine they reloaned it to me for another 3 weeks with the option of online renewal up to 5 times, unless somebody else asks for it
Libraries now are far removed from what they were, everybody should use them or they most probably will loose them in the same manner as a lot of local post offices

The specialist has given us a load of leaflets to read about corticosteroids. TBH I don't think the BH will be able to take them. They can be bad for diabetics, they aren't good for bone density and osteoporosis runs in his family - MiL has it very bad, and there are loads of other serious reasons not to take them - most of the side effects would be much worse for him than the benefits. We'll discuss it with the specialist though. The steroid injection she gave him - without telling us what it was first - has already put his blood sugars through the roof.
***Deep Sigh*** It was all looking very hopeful this morning.......
More coffee, methinks....refill anyone?

Aaaaaaaaarternoooon Peeps - I'm not being funny, Jules, but why would anyone let someone stick 'em with a needle without asking what was in the syringe? Anyway, I hope it doesn't give him too much trouble, and that you can sort out his issues now you have the diagnosis. ((Hugs)) from me. Oh, and a yes on the Coffee, too, ta!
Rest of you lot OK?

Cold ribena please.
Don't you worry, Jules Onwards and upwards. Corticosteroids can be a pain. When mama H was poorly last year, she had high steroid induced blood sugars. Nothing, i know, in comparison to Diabetes. Even now, with her current dosage, she has to have calcium as a preventative thing.

Se, I'd just buy it. I like my own books.
I got it as a .pdf but it is sooooooooo much easier to refer to as a book,Mrs BB is getting me a printed copy of it for my birthday,so not many more loans needed
I wonder how long you could keep a book, or how many times you can renew it?
Here you can keep renewing the loan at three week intervals until someone else requests the book,at that point it has to be returned on the last due date.

So I look out of the upstairs window and there's a man's body, face down on the road. We have no pavements but if we did he would be in the gutter. So I rush downstairs, run out to the road and the body moves his hand ever so slightly, and he mutters something I can't catch. So I say, Are you alright?
The body sits up, moves mobile phone away from ear and says "Its so warm lying here" - and "A car just stopped to see if I'd been knocked down".
Its the young lad who has been barrowing soil around to my garden all day I think he's tired

Because he's a bloke? I did ask and she said it was a slow-acting painkiller. It was only when I read the letter this morning, detailing what they'd already done and what's going to happen next, that I was able to see that it was hydrocortisone, which is a glucocorticoid. It was, according to Dr Unpronounceable, supposed to be a miracle cure. No difference yet....
Haddock in herb butter and cauli mash for tea. I'm starvacious......
