Can I suggest that you ascertain how lazy the cats are before going to the trouble/expense of a catflap?

Domino cat (that's him you can see here) has a habit of sitting indoors by the catflap and poking it with his foot for a bit (flappaflappaflappa) then pausing to look round at me.

Repeat, ad nauseum. It drives me bonkers.

My colleague is a sucker for his cuteness and says 'awwww, can't he get out? He wants to go outside!' then gets up and goes and opens the door for him.

Oddly, when he's outside and it's cold/raining, he has no problem whatsoever in barreling his portliness back inside through the flap. Little beggar!

          • Morning All.....Beautiful morning.

I'm wondering if the BH will manage the car boot this morning? He usually has to sit after one row if the going is soggy, but he might manage a few rows today as it's dry - if I tank him up on painkillers first.

Am I early or is everyone else late?

            Coffee?

            • I think we're early this morning Jules I've been awake since about 5.30, when the cacophony in the trees got just too loud to ignore! On my 3rd brew now, have a load of washing pegged out, contemplating what to have for 2nd breakfast

I can't hack breakfast. I just can't contemplate food first thing - although the BH has his strangled egg & bacon. Don't mind cooking for him as long as I don't have to eat. I need my coffee though, or I'm just not human.

Laundry out here too - hope we aren't pushing our luck. Getting warmer out there - fab! My patio is covered in flat cats and the chook garden looks like someone's shot all me chooks - they're all topping up their tans.

BH says yes to the boot sale, so I'm just off to get us both dressed. Wonder if'n I could chance a skirt today?

                          • G'Mooooooooooooooornin' Peeps We have sun - just waiting for it to get a bit higher, so it dries my laundry, and the grass, which needs cutting. Two loads on the line, another in the washer, but smalls are in the tumbler, as I just can't be arrised pegging 'em all out. They take up too much space anyway.

Himself has the car-boot bug today, and has boogered off early. The step-dogs are a right royal pain at the moment. The oldie comes in and goes to sleep - no problem, and she is fourteen, after all! The younger one, aged seven, just keeps running in, squeaking at me, and running out again. The chain screen is up at the back door, to keep the flying critters out, so I have to listen to that jangling with every visit. Bless!

Hazel, your cat tale made me snigger. When he was a pup, our Dawg used to stick his head through the cat-flap and stop the cat from coming in.

I'm off to the congrats thread...

                              • Bitter and nasty day here - bitter cold and nasty that we got no rain! Daughter ready for school week again.

Slightly singed sausage rolls in the ov. Curry in the slow cooker (for the freezer) and homemade baked beans had on toast for dinner. Why do people put sugar in their baked beans? We had capsicum in ours an they were a tad too sweet for me.

Glad to hear we've a Bluethorn in our midst at last! Hope Mr and Mrs Thorn are having a kip, now it's all done and dusted........will likely be the last sleep they'll get for a while.
