  • Sounds like you had a fab day, VC.

Evening All...just sitting down to some very unhealthy dinner after 14 hours on the road - although we did stop quite a lot. The BH is really feeling it. #1 Son did volunteer to swap his shift so that they could share the driving, but his Dad said no, he'd be fine - silly beggar Anyway, #2 is home safe after an exhilarating first year at Uni and already raring to go for next term. The nearer we got to Hull, the cloudier it became today, but it started to clear on the way home and is beautiful here. Came home along the A46 - lovely route.

We arrived back to find the DD has been round and dropped off a load of food. We are, apparently, barbecuing tomorrow.......I think we'll be in bed early if'n we have a lot to do tomorrow. I'll need to get up at a decent time to make a pavlova.

I've missed something about a new Gt Granddaughter of Lottie's? Congratz Lottie & Mr Lottie (We saw some fab vintage cars today...)

I've eaten fresh-baked pretzels from L!dl today. Wonderful, but I so wish I hadn't eaten bread - I look like I'm pregnant now. It'll be a few days before the bloating goes away. Serves me right. Drove up to Hull in a perfectly tailored dress, drove back in a strangulating cotton corset.

    • Sounds like everyone's been busy busy today. It's got cooler here this afternoon, and is quite overcast now. Having just about acclimatised to the heat, I'm now wearing a jumper - can't ruddy win.

Having a bit of a tidy, when I got back at lunch time, I was most annoyed to find a bag of eggs. I thought Mr.G had taken them to work, to sell, but, he'd forgotten, and something else had been put on top of the bag.

              • Bit early for G&Ts here, thanks all the same.

You have all been out and about and busy by the sounds of it. I didn't achieve much yesterday - went to pick up daughter from a Wake-over (a teenage sleepover where no sleep is involved) then had a quick bite at the cafe that Techie one works at. Funny sitting there watching him serve people, tell them nicely that there a $10 credit purchase eftpos, help a new staffer find where something is while getting on with other things. He's a nice boy. Then daughter rode the spotty nag while I had a glass of red on the deck. Then we fed and organised the horses and chooks for the night.

Today it is freezing! My fingers are just starting to thaw out and it's nearly midday! We didn't put the fire on as we were tired and going to bed early...........I've put the smoked ham bone and green split peas in the slow cooker as I felt the need for comfort food after going out to organise the animals this morning.

MIght have a few things reorganised to help out with the budget and take the pressure off a bit for a while.

Please God let me find all the things I need in the office today so I can get this job done!

Me, I don't mind the ball and chain( oops I mean the loving missus ) and baby are nicely asleep after I tucked them both back into their respective beds. Now to keep the other two from trashing the place so they can stay asleep is me next mission

                        • Good luck with that RT!! One of the girls on the Herbal day brought her little baby along. Most of the time you wouldn't know he was there. However, when we formed a circle and were meant to be invoking the guidance of our personal angels (or something) and all was quiet, the baby let out a tremendous squeal I had a little snigger, as did the people either side of me, as we were holding hands and you could feel them laughing! If someone had told me in the morning that I'd be holding hands with 2 Park Rangers before the day was out, I wouldn't have believed them!
I wonder what today has in store

Mr.G is off collecting bargains off the 'Bay (he now has his own account ) and has taken my car. Hope he's left his Landy keys, as I'm off garden snooping with a chum today. I like the open gardens scheme!
