  • Come off it RT, we already know you're as old as I am and I remember - in fact I have a leaf or 2.
As for how many people does it take to insert a leaf - that depends on how they're stored. Mine is upstairs in the back of a wardrobe - so I struggle to bring it downstairs on my own and fight with it to get it to line up with the pegs. With two pairs of hands its easy-peasy.
With another table, you just slide the outside 2 pieces apart and the leaf is stored underneath and fits in easily.
By now, Jules, you should have done it

    • VC the last time I put a leaf into a table I trapped my fingers so that table didn't last long.

      • Come from a different part of the world was always an extending table or a fold down / drop table...

        • Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeevenin' Peeps. Just spent a happy couple of hours wandering round a pretty garden. (I had CAAAAAAAAAAAAKE too, but don't tell, coz I'm not supposed to! )

My dining table has two leaves. I leaves 'em out, coz they bite - bit like Arkwright's Till!

            • Evening gang!!!
I'm feeling very virtuous I've had a weekend stuffed full of gardening, and I've loved every bit of it
Saturday morning was spent at the lottie - did tonnes of stuff.
Saturday afternoon I planted up my hanging baskets and window boxes for home.
This morning I mowed 2 lawns and pottered in the garden at the old house.
This evening I planted out some Runner Beans and watered everything, coz the wind has dried everything out so badly.
              I'm pooped now, but happy

                  • Ahhhh! I had one of those tables as a child but it was always extended! I knew it could go smaller (from making clubhouses under it) but never knew it had a special name

I wish it would stay warm for a few weeks as my veg plants are growing a bit on the slow side.
I think stuff is about 3-4 weeks behind...Eg runner beans are only about 6" tall.
