Never noticed it VC. I'm curious now too. Bladdy windy here this morning, but the sun is trying. The rain last night didn't amount to much - just enough to lay the dust a bit.

Like people putting special characters in eg # for twitter but the squares a new one to me and to be honest the only time I've noticed it is in your post

I'd be inclined to agree with RedThorn that it's most likely a font (or special character) incompatibility. For example, I get a J instead of a smiley face when reading messages in one of my email accounts because it can't decipher the smiley.
What a useful app this is had lots of advice in a very short time. Our plot is exposed to the winds and wild animals, This is my third year as a veg gardener, been doing ok with the brassicas but not so well will the carrots and leeks. We have 4 raised beds with a variety of soils one bed is very stoney and heavy. A pheasant is roaming around at the moment not sure if it will eat the plants. We also have flower beds by the river.
Thanks Janet
That's what her post looks like to me....
