Just popped back to report that the Tart has settled in! Our shy demure depressed new arrival ate her dinner like she hadn't been fed in a week, then wound the boy up to such a state that I chucked 'em out in the garden. Next thing I noticed they were 'tied!' Good job he's been 'done!'
Evenin all. Thought I would pop in for a mooch and see I have a lot to catch up on!
Started a new job this week so have been sidetracked in helping set up a new place with other nooby and the boss and am pooped.
Anyhoo, off for a look around :-D

Good to see you back KCN - I wondered where you'd gorn! Good luck with the new job
Bins - I like the name Cariad Its a term of affection in Wales (as I'm sure you know) but others may not Its a word that sounds right for what it means (sweetheart, darling, love....)
Hope you find a job where you're appreciated - think of the pleasure you'll get handing in your notice
I had serious doubts about the new job but am starting to think I did the right thing. I got a pay rise (still not much though), I can walk it in 15 minutes, it's full timeish and I will save around £50 a week in fuel! Good job being as I still don't have a car.
Bins, there will be something out there for you. Often where you least expect it.

It's not a good feeling Bins. When we moved up here, the director of a company I looked after heard I was leaving and offered me a job working from home. After a bit of negotiation I accepted. It meant travelling from Aberdeen to Inverness every week, but hey. Then I got punted around departments to do additional stuff as well as what they hired me for, which was to cut all the excess phones off their account and then help negotiate a contract using my knowledge of the way it worked. I got the feeling that although I cust costs massively they still weren't happy - I had to justify (their word!) my salary, which could have been doubled and they would still be spending less than before I sorted their phone account.
I got a call on Tuesday asking if I had completed the renewal. When I said that I had just sent the final email that day I was summoned by my manager to Inverness on that Friday as there was a company announcement. I had a feeling I knew what was coming so took everything with me, laptop, phone, the lot. I was there half an hour when me one other girl were taken into a room and told we had been made redundant. Leave our stuff and go immediately. The galling thing was that my manager wasn't even the one who told me. It was left to someone who had nothing at all to even do with the department I worked for.
I am now on waaay less money but in a job I enjoy. It can be tight at times but I wouldn't change it.
Ooh, I also have a garden now and don't have to climb 64 stairs just to get to my front door anymore (which has also prolonged the life of one of our dogs!)
Bedtime story over

Good Morning, Happy Friday, Happy Longest Harvesting Garlic Day and Summer Solstice. Think that just about covers it. Gloomy and damp here, hope the sun breaks through. Have a good day All
Why 3 people for your appraisal Bins, do you have 3 managers? You must have felt very intimidated and it is really not right, are you going to complain? Although sometimes a bit daunting, appraisal should be a positive experience for the appraisee. Chin up love and good luck with the job search
